Atlantic Ocean, on the USS Bataan LHD 5. Dog handlers Aaron Carr, Sgt. (left) and Cameron Chapman (right) demonstrate a training session on the Well Deck with Speedy, a 3 year old male German Shepard and Narcotics Detection dog. Speedy is still going through training, he is most likely never going to work within a war zone. He is also being trained to be an on-leash dog, rather than an off-leash-- which majority are used for military operations. #sonyalpha #reportage #fleetweeknyc #photojournalism #documentary #documentaryphotography #everydayUSA #reportagespotlight

Моряки стоят в очереди на сдачу посуды после ланча в 11 утра

On the Atlantic Ocean, off Virginia. U.S. Marines wait in line to dispose their silverware in the dish-pit after their 11am lunch. It was quite an experience being packed inside the USS Bataan LHD 5 Navy ship with U.S. Marines and Navy personal. I'm excited to finally reach New York City, which means I'll be sharing some more images from the trip. #everydayUSA #photojournalism #usmc #navy #documentary #documentaryphotography #sonyalpha #reportagespotlight

Капрал с армейской татуировкой, которая говорит о том, что он пулеметчик

6th post for this week....pictured here is Corporal Lawrence of the Machinegun Section of Weapon Platoon in 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, Kilo Company, with a tattoo on his arm of the Marine Corps Eagle, Globe and Anchor, the 0331 machine gunner job designation number and belt fed rounds symbolizing his dedication and love for machine-guns, with are belt fed crew served weapons. I was so excited to make this portrait being that I was a machine gunner in the past. Besides being warfighters, Infantry Marines are also known for having works of art tattooed on their bodies as not only cool tattoos, but the show their dedication and loyalty to the Marine Corps, their job, and the brothers to right and left of them with they fight for, train with and love like the brothers they are. Also the horn in the picture is for Lawrence to relay orders to his Marines that serve in his section and it serves as a parody of sorts.Photo:@anthonybgeathers #photojournalism #makeportraits #usmarines #fleetweeknyc #ussbataan

Час политинформации

Atlantic Ocean, off the East Coast. U.S. Marines attend a meeting on public affairs issues on the USS Bataan LHD 5 Navy ship, while in route from Norfolk, VA., to Manhattan, NY. This was my first time ever embedding with the U.S. Military. A rough estimate of 18 to 25 year olds are typically enlisted in the U.S. Marines. Some never quite finish college, while others join the military immediately after high school. #everydayUSA #photojournalism #documentary #documentaryphotography #reportagespotlight #sonyalpha

На твердой земле

So after we pulled into port after traveling from Virginia to NYC on the USS Bataan, you already know the Marines made a beeline straight to the hangar bay, so they can finally get off the ship.. For some Marines , this is home.. For others it's like Disneyland and they can't wait to see this beloved city. Oh yeah, they can smell that liquor like Wolverine too so watch out lol!! Plus I wanted to get a picture with them in that sharp ass uniform. Got more work coming from the pipeline. The other dream team members @balazsgardi @anastasiatl and @pablounzueta_ all got interesting stories they are telling on their accounts that y'all should check out.:@anthonybgeathers #newyorkcity #usmarines #fleetweeknyc #ussbataan #documentaryphotography #monochrome #photojournalism #iphonephotography

I end this fleet week project with this photo. Got the opportunity to slay this project with some of the baddest photographers in the game and learn from them as I went along. It was practically on the job training. I will never forget this entire week, giving my all in helping to tell a unique story. Back to doing sports work tomorrow and then back to hitting the weights tomorrow cause a brotha ain't gonna stay strong and ready to go by his damn self. Stay tuned for more projects coming out the woodworks #workinghard #newbeginnings #goodfriends #inthetrenches #alwaysgettingafterit photo shot by @balazsgardi
